Dora Prieto

Born to American and Mexican parents, Dora grew up biculturally in rural Nova Scotia, Florida, and Southern and Central Mexico before she moved to British Columbia when she was 17. Moving between languages and cultures gave her a unique social perspective, which lead her to study a BASc in Social Sciences and Literature at Quest University Canada. Her final honours thesis focused on critical theory as a philosophical approach for social change.

Following her studies she found that Marketing and Communications was a way to use her writing and social insights to empower cultural organizations. She has a particular focus on digital marketing given the current media climate and has successfully grown the digital presence for a number of non-profits in Vancouver and Mexico City. She is excited to be more involved with the dance community through working at DanceHouse as the Communications and Development Coordinator.
